Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 January 2026

Welcome to Sidekick. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you use the Sidekick iOS app (the “App”) and our website (the “Site”). It also explains who we share information with and your legal rights.

This Policy is intended to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (“UK GDPR”) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Please also read our Terms of Service.

What is Sidekick?

Sidekick is an iOS app that helps parents discover kids’ activities and click through to third-party websites to view details and make bookings. When you tap “Book now”, you will be taken to the activity provider’s website or a third-party booking/ticketing platform.

Sidekick does not operate the activities. Bookings and payments (if any) are completed on third-party websites.

Who controls the use of my information?

Sidekick is operated and provided to you by:

My Sidekick Ltd (Company No. 16547520)

Registered address: 3 Huron Road, London, SW17 8RE

Contact: info@mysidekick.uk

My Sidekick Ltd is the “data controller” for personal data collected through the App and Site.

If you choose to book an activity on a third-party website, that third party (the provider or booking platform) will also be a separate controller of your data for the purposes of fulfilling your booking and running their service.

The information we collect

We collect information in three main ways:

  1. information you provide to us,

  2. information we automatically collect, and

  3. information we receive from others.

Personal information (categories)

Depending on how you use Sidekick, we may collect:

  • Contact Data: name, email address, and any information you provide in support requests.

  • Identity Data: login details (username and password)

  • Account Data: login details and account preferences (where you create an account).

  • Children’s Data: for example, children’s age range(s) you choose for personalisation and search filtering, child's name, child's gender.

  • Usage Data: activity within Sidekick such as searches, filters used, listings viewed, favourites, and taps on “Book now”.

  • Transaction Data: includes details of classes providers have sold through us

  • Technical Data: device and app information such as device model, iOS version, app version, IP address, time zone, and similar technical identifiers.

  • Location Data: approximate location if you enable location permissions, used to show activities near you.

  • Marketing Data: your preferences for receiving marketing from us (e.g., newsletters), where you opt in.

We may also use aggregated data (e.g., statistics about searches) that does not identify you.

Personal data you provide to us

From time to time you may provide personal data because you:

  • register for an account (if offered),

  • contact us with a question or complaint,

  • submit feedback,

  • respond to a survey, or

  • You offer for sale and/or sell classes on our website

  • You purchase classes on our website

  • opt in to marketing communications.

All personal data that you provide to us must be true, complete and accurate.  If you provide us with inaccurate or false data, and we suspect or identify fraud, we will record this and we may also report this to the appropriate authorities.

When you contact us by email or post, we may keep a record of the correspondence and we may also record any telephone call we have with you.

Personal data we automatically collect about you

When you use the App, we may automatically collect Technical Data and Usage Data (such as which screens you view and which “Book now” links are tapped). This helps us:

  • operate and improve Sidekick,

  • understand which listings are useful, and

  • measure performance.

Cookies: The Sidekick App does not use browser cookies in the same way as a website. However, our Site may use cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookies Policy).

Personal data we receive from others

We may receive limited information from:

  • Service providers who support our operations (e.g., analytics and crash reporting, customer support tools, hosting).

  • Affiliate networks/partners (where we use affiliate links) that may provide reporting indicating that a purchase occurred after a click, typically with non-sensitive metadata (e.g., date/time, value band, or an internal click reference), depending on the programme.

We do not receive your payment card details for third-party bookings.

Children’s data

Sidekick is intended for parents, not children.

  • We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts.

  • If you choose to provide information about your child (for example an age range to improve search results), you provide that information as the parent.

  • Sidekick does not communicate directly with children.

If Sidekick later enables features that require sharing child details with a provider (e.g., to help you enquire or register), we will explain this clearly at the point of collection.

The information is provided with the consent of the Parent/Legal Guardian. Class Providers will have consented to our Terms of Service for using the booking system (once built) which outlines their responsibility in keeping this information secure.

“Book now”, third-party websites and affiliate links

When you tap “Book now”, you will be taken to a third-party website (e.g., a provider site or ticketing platform). Those third parties have their own terms and privacy policies, and they may use cookies or tracking technologies on their sites.

Some outbound links may be affiliate links. This means Sidekick may earn a commission if you make a purchase after clicking. Affiliate partners may use tracking methods (for example cookies and link identifiers) on their sites to attribute purchases.

For more details, see our Affiliate Disclosure.

How we use your personal information

We will only process your information where legally permitted under UK GDPR. The main legal bases we rely on are:

  • Performance of a contract: to provide the App and any requested features (e.g., account functionality).

  • Legitimate interests: to operate, secure and improve Sidekick; measure usage; prevent fraud and abuse; and understand demand for activities.

  • Consent: where required (e.g., certain marketing messages; optional location permissions).

  • Legal obligation: where we must comply with applicable law.

Typical purposes include:

  • providing and maintaining Sidekick;

  • responding to support requests;

  • improving the App and user experience;

  • logging “Book now” link clicks for analytics and performance measurement;

  • measuring affiliate performance (where applicable);

  • ensuring security and preventing misuse; and

  • sending marketing communications where you opt in (or where permitted by law).

Your rights

You have rights in relation to your personal data, including:

  • Access

  • Rectification

  • Erasure

  • Restriction

  • Objection (including to direct marketing)

  • Portability (in certain cases)

  • Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent)

To exercise your rights, contact info@mysidekick.uk. We may ask for information to verify your identity before responding.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Class Providers, you can access much of the data we hold about you by viewing your class profile pages on Sidekick. Thos who require additional information, email us at info@sidekick.uk to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share personal data with:

  • Service providers (processors) who help us operate Sidekick (e.g., hosting, analytics, crash reporting, support tooling). They process data on our instructions under contract.

  • Affiliate networks/partners for attribution and reporting where you use affiliate links.

  • Professional advisers (lawyers, accountants) where necessary.

  • Authorities where required by law or to protect rights, property, and safety.

If we stop using a provider, we take reasonable steps to ensure data is deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

Marketing and spam

We will not sell or rent your contact information to third parties.

  • If you opt in to marketing emails, you can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link or by contacting us.

  • Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send essential service messages (e.g., security notices).

If you ask us to stop marketing, we may keep a minimal record of your request to ensure we respect your preference.

Securing your data

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including access controls and security practices appropriate to our size and stage. However, the internet is inherently insecure and we cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted online.

Cross-border data transfers

Some service providers may store or process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we use appropriate safeguards (for example UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual clauses) to protect your personal data.

Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.

Typical approach:

  • Account data: while your account is active; deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period after deletion (subject to legal/security needs).

  • Support communications: kept for a limited period for training and dispute resolution.

  • Analytics/click logs: kept for a limited period (e.g., 12–24 months) to understand product usage and reconcile performance.

Where deletion is not immediately possible (for example, in backups), we will securely store and isolate data until deletion is feasible.

Cookies (Site only)

Our Site may use cookies and similar technologies (including third-party cookies) to operate the site, understand usage and measure marketing/attribution. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Updating this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time (for example, to reflect changes in law or our services). We will post the updated version on our Site and/or in the App and update the “Last updated” date.

Other websites

Sidekick contains links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of any third party.
